70% of Americans believe there are multiple paths to salvation. Famous Christian leader James Dobson also accused of Obama of distorting the Bible..., probably because Obama is perhaps closer to the 70% of the Americans when it comes to issues of faith...
Anyway, regardless of who's right who's wrong, Lord knows. Is it worth fighting over? If 70% of the American jumps off a cliff, should we do so too? Also, must we all agree with James Dobson's interpretation of the scripture? Or must we agree with Pope's interpretation?
God gave each one of us a Bible so we can read it for ourselves. God also gave us brains so that we can think for ourselves. Whatever we believe based on what we've read, we should just live accordingly. I'm not super Apostle Billy, I can't be 100% sure that I'm right, but I gotta practice what I preach in order to truly give God a good testimony of my life. If 2 brothers of Christ were to have some disagreement on bible interpretation..., should we kill each other over our disagreements? Or should we just humbly yield and let the other person be right for the sake of unity? WWJD?
Of course, as pastor Jim said, we are to cooperate as much as we can without actually compromising ourselves. Jesus cooperated to his death without compromising himself. Hopefully I can do likewise... leaders being good Christ-like leaders, followers being good Christ-like followers... Husbands be good husbands..., etc.
Today's reading was about Korah, Dathan and Abiram, who rose up against Moses and Aaron with 250 men, well-know community leaders... they went to Moses claiming that whole community is holy, everyone of them, the LORD is with them too... they asked why Moses and Aaron are trying set themselves above the LORD's assembly?
Of course, in time, God showed them why. I know for sure 70% of the Americans are wrong..., only trying to be 'politically correct'. Not sure if Dobson's right or Obama's right..., but surely time will tell. Dobson's also said he won't endorse McCain too. So not sure what Dobson's trying to do. Why not he run for president? ;) Comparing Obama and McCain, for sure I still trust Obama more regarding faith related issues, but I am a bit concerned that as Obama is drawing closer to power... he's compromising more and more...
May God help us not to compromise too much... May the hand of God strengthen us so that we can maintain our integrity.
Oh, and thank God for the slight drop of gas prices, may this trend continue too! ;)
