Boeing won the protest for the refueling tanker program. Bit of a good news in this slowing economy I suppose. Boeing supposed to have won this contract 4 years ago, but due to some ethical violations that sent an Boeing executive and Air Force officer in jail, it was cancelled. Senator McCain was instrumental at it... calling the initial Boeing deal as a taxpayer ripoff... consequently set the stage for Northrop and Airbus to join the bid. Now 4 years later, GAO has once again determined that something's fishy with the new Northrop/Airbus deal..., so the decision is going to get delayed for another 4 more years!!! This is good for Boeing but bad for Airforce I guess... because the aging fleet of tankers are desperately in need of being replaced!!! I don't understand why they can't just give the contract to Boeing if the Northrop/Airbus thing is clearly bogus. Hopefully government won't end up unable to make up its mind in another 4 years! ;)
Anyway, stock market is pretty much all red today. At least boeing stock inched up a tiny bit because of the news. ;) But if current fuel trend continues, I think a lot of airlines will go bankrupt... and by the time Boeing's ready to present the new 787, airlines might not have enough money to buy it anymore! Hopefully things won't end up that bad... hopefully economy decide to change its mind and start to go up!
On a more spiritual note, it's interesting that a bunch of atheists signed up onto my prayer challenge experiement. Basically instead of debating them on theological issues, we Christians also are going to pray for their conversion. I also asked them to please respond back whenever they're converted... so... here's hoping and praying that their names will soon appear on the book of life soon! ;) I've debated them a lot, I figure it's time that I pray for them a lot now... we'll just have to wait and see how things go... see if those atheists will eventually change their minds...
Thank God that God doesn't change minds about putting His name on us and blessing us! Thank you Abba!
