Good luck Billy!

Billy Gates officially retired from Mircrosoft today... and will now be fully devoted on his charity work. Not sure if he's Christian or not, it sure would be nice if he were! ;)

Also found out that one reason gas price is rising, besides the falling dollar value, is because pension fund managers are now investing in commodities such as gas! These commodities really should be 'traded' instead of 'buy and hold'... and because they are buying huge quantities and holding them... naturally we now have a shortage of supplies... consequently driving up prices! Congress is currently working to solve this issue, hopefully this is fixed soon... because the high gas prices is really hurting the whole economy. Another area of concern would be the airline industry... experts are predicting that if the current fuel prices continue... pretty much all airlines will go into bankruptcy! And then Boeing will probably be finished... and then... Anyway, stock market has declined drastically in the past few days. We're officially in a recession. These are times perfect for us to get into a better relationship with God! ;)

Today's reading was about Phinehas. It was during a time when Israelites were seduced by Moabite women... and just as when the whole assembly were weeping infront of the tent, there was one Israelite who openly brought a Midianite woman with him infront of everyone... this prompted this priest-Phinehas to follow the couple to their tent and killed them. His zeal for God pleased the Lord and it helped stop the plague that was with the whole community too.

I only hope that I may have that same kind of zeal... not to kill other people for God of course, but to kill the part of myself that is still sinful... if we all have sufficient zeal to act justly, to love mercy and to humbly follow God, surely the messed up economy would stop too. May God help us... and may we help ourselves not to do foolish things...
