Campus Shooting...

The parents who have their children at Virginia Tech must be feeling aweful yesterday. With 33 senseless deaths, the whole nation is probably feeling aweful... and South Korea even sent condolences... I wonder what drives people to become like that. And interestingly..., I'm suppose to be a pretty sympathetic guy according to Pastor Su, but I'm not really feeling anything at the moment too. Perhaps Virginia is just too far away? Anyway, police said motives are still sketchy... only said that this guy was a loner and very quiet... Hmm..., if I lose a few more friends and get quieter, would that be me?!?!? Hope not! ;) Thanks be to our God that He got a hold of me so that I didn't end up like that!

Productive weekend!

Was kinda looking forward to perhaps checking out the CART race at Long Beach over the weekend, but oh well, with so many things going on... maybe next year!

Our Tempur-pedic mattress arrived on Saturday morning. Thanks to Paul and Ivy, we were able to get it at discount prices for only $1000! It's interesting that it's very soft and firm at the same time. The cat doesn't like it..., but anyway, I need to start designing and building a bed now! It has to look cool and at the same time be supportive enough for the mattresss... Hopefully dad can help me cut out the bed frame at bro's factory.

We also purchased another $1000 item from Costco over the weekend, which is a Sceptre 42" LCD HDTV! I think this is about the last major purchase we need to make..., well other than the new car we'll need to buy when the lease on the Altima expires! Fortunately, that happens after the wedding so hopefully financial pressure won't be quite as high then! ;)

Also had lunch with Pastor Lau and Christine on Saturday just to catch up on things. I think we both know that I won't be returning to LAKKC anytime soon, but pastor thought we should keep the 'channel' open nonetheless! Anyway, it's cool that Justin and Amy are getting baptized this weekend. I would go a congratulate them if it weren't for my mom finally willing to come to church with us this Sunday!!! Yes, mom came with us to Faith Community Church this Sunday. Not sure how much she understood what Pastor Jim said, but at least she likes the music! ;) Maybe I should start a home cellgroup with mom and dad..., just to do 'english' Bible studies... this way they can learn the Word of God in English! ;)

Also saw a very nice movie called Keepin' Mum. Interesting British film about God's little grace... ;) This movie didn't make too much money box-office-wise, and it's kinda dark... 'dark' meaning some senseless violence and killings..., but it still has an over all positive message... which is that sometimes we all should just chill and relax and just enjoy and bask under God's grace. :) Yeah, easier said than done. Even Apostle Paul had to try very hard 3 times before he finally gets it that we should just go with God's flow... and God's mysterious way will never lead us wrong!

Ethics Training!

I rushed to the post office today to mail dad's tax returns with certified mail because dad owes money to the IRS. Just want to make sure I have proof that I've mailed that return! This didn't leave much time during lunch..., I had to eat quickly... and then attend the annual ethics training... I found out that I may not be all that ethical, for example, writing this blog on company time is probably not ethical. Writing personal emails or phone calls too!!! Hmm... so our Lord Jesus is full of grace and truth..., how do we balance grace and truth, Lord? Also, I'm such a procratinator, such as doing my tax return in the last minute..., I could've gotten my money back earlier!!!

Anyway, may the Lord guide me to become a worker that can bring him MORE glory. Help me become a good and faithful worker regardless of who I'm working for. Lord God, I need you help!

Brother GD's prayer meeting...

Brother GD talked about how our bodies are a temple of the Spirit, that we're not our own, but bought by God at a great price and we are to honor God with our bodies. (1cor6:19) May Lord Jesus himself come inside of us, as he went inside his Father's temple, to drive out the 'den of robbers' in us and change us so that we may truly become "temple of prayers"! (Mat 21) Brother GD also warned us not to end up like Solomon..., took 7 yrs to build up God's temple but end up taking 13 yrs to build up his own palace! The wise King Solomon screwed up big time in the end, but at least he was finally able to see that life is completely meaningless without God. May we use Solomon's example as warning for ourselves... and remember Solomon's own teaching which he apparently forgot when life turned out too good for him... ;)

Proverbs 4
23 你 要 保 守 你 心 ， 勝 過 保 守 一 切 （ 或 譯 ： 你 要 切 切 保 守 你 心 ） ， 因 為 一 生 的 果 效 是 由 心 發 出 。

Tax Return Done! (for real this time!)

Yeah, I'm getting back $7,000 because I found the SOP donation receipt which I thought I lost... YEAH! My tax returned is now filed and over with... I can expect my money in a few weeks! I'm also helping doing my dad's taxes too, but looks like he owes a few thousand dollars though... oh well.

Last nite, the love of my life said that she has this burning fire in her tummy... all thanks to one of her violin students. I don't know exactly what's going on, but clearly Satan did a good number on them. I hope James will eventually come to his senses and I hope the love of my life can also forgive him soon... instead of allowing that fire to continue to burn inside of her.

LORD can you teach me how to put out fires? I need more wisdom please!

I just finished doing my taxes last nite and thank God I'm getting back about $6,000 from both Federal and State government. This should help alleviate some financial pressures I have incurred lately. Yipee! :)

Lord God, may You also guide and guard me as you did with Moses. Use me to not only deliver my future wife from the bondage of stupid immigration problems, but also to somehow use me to deliver the rest of my family members from the bondage of sin... and into Your hand of salvation! I honestly don't know how LORD, but I'm sure you know. I trust in You!

Easter Weekend(Almansor Courts, Long Beach Drift)

Okay, this is my 2nd post and I will try to use this blog space to record down my daily devotions & reflections...

I was checking out Almansor Court's gazeboo after we've done food tasting there, this is where our wedding ceremony will take place! I can't believe I'm getting married in 3 months! Kinda scary..., I hope our marriage will be able to bring glory to God! Expense of the wedding is kinda scary too, and the food wasn't so great tasting either. Hopefully the guests won't complain too much about it... ;) And of course, hopefully we'll be able to find a suitable church home soon. May the LORD lead our way!

Cousin Robert also treated us to a Formula Drift event down at Long Beach over the weekend. It was interesting, but NOT as loud as I thought it'd be! At least Daniel was happy that Robert got a drift tire from Falken Tires as souvenir!


Easter Sunday I also gave 3 testimonies at 2 different churches regarding the experiences I had with the inner healing class which I went thru about 3 yrs ago with Mrs. Chi. Hope God will continue to use Mrs. Chi to help the Chinese Christian community to receiving healing from God for their past hurts... so that they may be able to truly celebrate their recovery!
